Our History
100 Mile Funeral Service was founded in 1978 by Ian and Del Gunn. The
Gunns had owned and operated a Funeral Home in Northern Manitoba for a
number of years, which they had purchased from Ian’s uncle. After moving
to the Cariboo in 1977 they saw the need for a local funeral service provider.
In the early years arrangements were made in peoples ho

mes.
Ian’s reputation as the local funeral director evolved in the South Cariboo
and many families needs were served. Ian and Del’s son Shane started working
with them in 1992, and after a few years took over the day to day operations
and established an arrangement office in 100 Mile House.
Shane and his wife Megan purchased the company in 1997 and in 1999

established
the funeral home at it’s present location in 100 Mile House. Having a
funeral home enabled us to offer a better level of service and facilities
to the families we serve. During the spring of 2006 the funeral home was
added onto and completely renovated.
Our family has always put the needs of the families we serve first
and continue to strive to provide the highest level of service in your
time of need.
Our Services are available to you 24 hours a day, 7days a week, 365 days a year. We welcome any questions you may have and invite you to contact us at anytime.
